Interview with Travel Blogger Kamilė Černauskytė

Kamilė Černauskytė

Kamilė Černauskytė is the founder of To Youpiter, a travel and marketing blog packed with helpful travel tips and resources. There she shares her adventures abroad and suggestions on what to do in the cities she’s already visited.

Now you have the opportunity to get to know Kamilė thanks to this interview, in which she tells us about her experience with blogging and some personal things.

Why did you start blogging?

There are two reasons why I started blogging. Firstly, I love traveling and I do that as often as possible. That’s why I have so much content and tips, which would be selfish to keep only for myself.

Secondly, I don’t like working just to make other people’s dreams come true. That’s why I am a freelancer and I started to make my dreams come true.

Tell us a bit about the place you’re from…

I am from Vilnius, Lithuania, one of the Baltic countries in Europe. We have a rich and proud history, and wonderful nature.

What are your favourite blogging tools of the trade?

I use Adobe apps to edit my photos and videos. These apps are easy to use and user-friendly — if you need any help with it, you’ll definitely find hundreds of videos on Youtube on how to use it.

I used to create my domain and I use it now to edit my website. Why I love it? Well, it is easy to use if you are a beginner to this or if you are more advanced then you can add extra features to code easily.

Google Drive is my cloud where I put all my photos and videos from my travels. Also, when I write a blog post firstly I do that in Google Docs and only then I add it to my website.

If you could live somewhere else, where would that be?

I would love to change the country I live in every month.

Do you prefer travelling solo or with someone else?

Mostly, I travel solo and I prefer it that way.

What travel blogger inspires you most?

I like Nomadic Matt. He is my inspiration because he is real and he shares only his own experience. If he writes about saving money traveling by bus, then it means that he really tried it.

He advertises only for those companies in which he truly believes, and that is really important for me.

Also, he is now a New York Times best-selling author and he has a great forum on his website, where you can get all the answers about planning a trip.

What is your dream job?

I am already working my dream job, which is digital marketing — but only in accommodation and tourism.

What is your favourite story?

The Little Prince, a book which reminds you how adults forget their inner child and how it is important to explore.

I love how the author shows the types of adults which we all can recognize, like a selfish, overly attached rose; a king who wants to be super important and everything have to be as he say, and a man who has to count everything and to own all the stars.

Every time you read this book, you notice and understand different quotes and stories of this book. My favorite quote is now: The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.

What’s your main goal in life?

To inspire other women to be stronger and to work for their dreams.

What would you say to a travel blogger who’s just starting out?

Be persistent and never give up.
