Last weekend, my boyfriend and I enjoyed a few days at my brother’s in Llançà. We still have a couple of weeks left for our vacations, but—honestly…—we are fed up with working! That’s why we allowed ourselves a few days of relaxation.
Where is Llançà?
Llançà is a small town in the Alt Empordà region, in the province of Girona in Catalonia, Spain. It’s located on the coastline of the Costa Brava, only 30 minutes from the French border.
The beaches of the Alt Empordà are different from those of the rest of Catalonia and Spain. The sea water there is much cooler and saltier.
I’ve tried to float face up on other beaches before, but I’ve discovered I can only do it on the Costa Brava. This is probably because there’s much more concentration of salt in the water.
Cala Borró is a nudist cove in Colera, a small village near Llançà. But don’t worry, most people who go there usually wear bathing suits!
People often go to small bays to get away from the bustle that usually exists on larger beaches like Grifeu or Garbet, which are more touristy.
El Cau del Llop
Another cove in Llançà is El Cau del Llop (literally: “The Lair of the Wolf”). As you can see in the picture, this beach is a bit more crowded than the previous one, but it’s more accessible.
When we weren’t on the beach, we were in the pool…
And these are the stunning views from our bedroom:
And this is it! We enjoyed a fantastic weekend in my homeland, the Alt Empordà. I hope we can go back very soon!
