Hi, there! How’s your summer going?!
To me, summer is flying, but luckily I still have a few days of holidays left and I’m taking full advantage of them. Today, for example, I’ve been working on the blog. I’ve purchased a new WordPress theme (my first premium WP theme ever!) and I’m planning my future posts for September.
Now let’s see what I’ve been up to this summer:
Trip to Sardinia, Italy
My mum and I have just come back from a trip to Sardinia, Italy. We spent two nights in Cagliari –the capital of the island– and three nights in Alghero.
TBH, Cagliari has exceeded all my expectations. I wasn’t sure if it was worth visiting, but once there, I instantly fell in love with this charming city full of history. Now I believe it’s totally underrated. I’ve already added it to my top 10 list of favourite cities, along with Budapest and London. Soon I’ll post a city guide here on the blog.
On the other hand, I was a bit disappointed about Alghero. I wouldn’t imagine it’d be such a tourist, crowded (and expensive) place. I thought it’d be a quieter town, but at least it was beautiful!
As a curiosity, I found many people who spoke Algherese, a dialect of Catalan, my mother tongue. So in Sardinia, I was able to communicate in three languages: English, Italian and Catalan. That was awesome!
The beaches of Sardinia are amazing. I had never seen such a crystalline ocean as if it were the Caribbean sea.
If you like to travel, I recommend you to visit Sardinia. Soon I’ll publish a post about my vacation there.
Writing my first novel
In July, I started writing my first novel. I’m currently working on the first draft and I already have 65 pages (I’d like to reach at least 250). I had never come this far with a story and I’m determined to finish it. I’ve always struggled with finishing things, but this is my dream since I was a child. Luckily, I’m really motivated right now!
My new writeblr
As a result of writing my novel, about a month ago I decided to create a writeblr, or what is the same, a Tumblr account dedicated only and exclusively to writing.
It’s a super fun way to motivate yourself to write, learn and meet like-minded people.
If you like to write, don’t hesitate to visit and follow my writeblr.
Finally, I’m going to spend these last days of holidays relaxing, but also planning my September agenda: work, blogging, writing my novel,… and my entire life!
And you, what have you been up to this summer?
